A high yeilding, medium to late variety that is about 2 weeks earlier than Imperial Star, requiring less vernalization. Plants are tolerant to a wide range of temperatures, growing up to 5 feet tall.   The chokes are large globe in shape  with harvestable heads in about 190 -210 days.

Fruit : Emerald artichoke flesh is thick, moist and nutty tasting with a large, deep heart. Artichoke exterior is oval shaped and glossy green.
Plant : Growth is open and erect, buds are on long stems for easy harvest.

Tolerances : Cold tolerant.
