Equinox

Equinox is a HEAT TOLERANT hybrid tomato which performs consistently well throughout the United States. It is somewhat similar to 'Solar Set' tomato except blossom scars are SMOOTHER - which allows for more conssitent marketable yields during cooler production seasons. The blossom scar smoothness plus heat tolerance makes Equinox a reliable variety for many tomato production regions. Maturity is early, comparable to 'Solar Set'. Determinate vines are similar to 'Solar Set' and either should not be pruned or only lightly pruned. Fruit ripen well on the vine or when picked mature-green and gassed. Flavor is excellent. Pedicels are jointed and shoulder color is light green. Plants are tolerant to all major disorders/diseases and hold up well under adverse conditions.
